I am not a troll. As you have clearly proven with your thoughtful posting of
this article, Bill, there IS an issue to be considered here. Have we all forgotten about
the autrocities that some of our boys have been accused of committing against civilians
that we are "liberating"? Does that have anything to do with the kinds of people our
government is putting into a uniform?
Of course, the Joe Longs and Irish Mikes of the group are in complete denial.

we're arguing in circles at this point, but your argument is based on an
assumption that there are parents of new-born babies out there in the real world
who would refuse to use a car seat and press such refusal to the point of any
physical force being necessary. It defies any sort of reason and common sense
to think that this would happen. All the new parents that I have ever had
contact with are happy to use a car seat for their baby and appreciate any
assistance in making sure that they are using the car seat properly so that
their baby is as safe as possible in a car. The only possible objection I can
think of is money, but even for parents who are not able to afford car seats
(and they are not expensive) it is not a problem because: 1) the hospital
provides a car seat if you don't have one; 2) they are now covered under
Medicaid.
Is there some kind of citizen movement in your area consisting of parents who
are upset about having to use car seats for their babies? I understand that
certain people get pissed off if there are any "regulations" that they are
forced to follow, but using a car seat for your baby is so simple and beneficial
with no downside. Which makes it all the more amazing that this thread
continues.

You must be new around here. Of course he realizes this. You will soon learn
that once cornered pickle will invariably resort to one of two things, or
both:
1) an ad hominem fallacy
2) paragraph upon paragraph of incomprehensible doublespeak.

It also doesn't mean in any way that a patient can't just stand up and walk
out. What recourse do you think a hospital has if a patient says, no
thanks, and insists on just walking out the door without being pushed in a
wheelchair?

No, I have not said anything about detaining the parents. All I've said is
that there is an argument to be made that defiantly insisting on
transporting a newborn illegally meets the definition of neglect, therefore
triggering the hospital's rights under the statute. Why in hell would the
parents refuse to put a baby in a car seat? If the parents asked you for
advice, what would you advise them to do? I'd tell them to get their ass
down to Wal-mart and buy a gdamn car seat.

Is this supposed to have some kind of meaning?
It might mean something if we knew what percentage of military vets not
currently on active duty served in the marines.
If that number was something like 10% then the 15% number above pretty much
supports Pauls guess.

Are you really as stupid as you're pretending to be? Are you
seriously suggesting that business cards don't include websites? I
know you're determined to try and make me look bad, but this goes
beyond even the level of idiocy I've come to expect from you. For
your sake, you really need to quit while you're behind.

That's probably a good idea, although politically not feasible. It
would undoubtedly provoke cries of racism.

I'm not sure what basis there is for that faith given the results of

I think that is very unlikely.
I don't claim to know just how they faked it. That's not because I can't
think of a way it could have been faked. It's because there are a number
of relatively simple ways it could have been faked.
For example, it may not be a dead dog. It could be a fake dog. It could
be a real dog at first, that is switched with a fake dog, when the Marine
turns his back to us to start a throwing motion.
The one thing I feel strongly about is that the yelping sounds are not
coming from whatever it is that was thrown. Hence, I don't believe it is
a live dog that was thrown.
There's no point in arguing it. I expect that we'll find out soon enough.

Yeah, although by the end of the weekend I spent two straight days in bed,
we went all three days. As you know I'm a huge racing fan and every year
this is "boys weekend" between my son Rick and I. Last year we could only
go for the Busch race, but this year we got tickets from a good friend for
the weekend pass which included Friday for all of the practices and Sprint
Cup qualifying, Saturday for practices, Busch (Nationwide) qualifying and
the 300 miler, and then Sunday for the UAW 400.
Whether or not we got to go to the races, it is great to spend a weekend
"father-son" style, and have already decided that next year will be the same
deal. Rick had never seen a CUP race, just the Busch up close, so he
freakin' loved it. Rick took most of the pics, btw.
